Welcome to The Get Real Workshops

logo

The Get Real Workshops is a growing network of our industry’s up and comers, trailblazers, rebels and truth speakers. These photographers are hard working hustlers who have studios, families and responsibilities. Above all, each of our photographers have found their own way in the industry and most importantly have figured out a way to pay their bills with a camera in their hands.

This workshop series focuses less on the glossy veneer and more on the down n’ dirty of running a successful business and being a better photographer.

“The naming of this workshop is no accident. It went way beyond just forcing me to GET REAL with my shooting style, client interaction and how I market myself. GET REAL took me far out of my comfort zone to a place that can be scary and freeing at the same time. It’s a drop down the rabbit hole that will open your photography and business mind forever.” -Shannon Christopher

What to Expect.

The Get Real Workshops are extensive two and a half day educational programs which include practical lessons on improving your business and photography. The syllabus for each workshop is handled by two or more photographers, often including guest speakers for extended evening programs.  These workshops will be less about buying the latest action pack and more about honing your skills to become a better business person and photographer. The workshops include live model shoots, image critiques and hands on training for posing, lighting and composition.  Depending upon the instructors, the syllabus from workshop to workshop will vary slightly. All the workshops include The Get Real business program that discusses principles that will help you examine your business, persona and identity to help attract the right kind of clients for you.

Who should come?

Get Real is for photographers who have a basic technical knowledge and are looking to improve.  Basics will be discussed, but not at length, so a solid understanding of the technical aspects of photography is highly recommended.

What to bring.

Bring yourself, lots of energy, a camera, lenses, flash and Pocket Wizards if you have them. A laptop would also be beneficial for taking notes and working on your images.

How much is it and what is included?

The workshop price is $795 and will include breakfast, and lunch for both days.
